Edge IT SMS Privacy Policy

Edge IT is committed to protecting your privacy. This SMS Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) explains how we collect, use, store, and share Personal Information in connection with our SMS/text messaging program (the “Service”). The Service is delivered through a third-party service provider. This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

By using or opting in to the Service, you agree to this Policy. We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be posted at the top of this page, and changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.

1. What “Personal Information” means

 

“Personal Information” is information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. This may include your mobile phone number and any other information you choose to share through text messages (for example: name, email address, address, account details, or other identifying information).

 

2. What information we collect

 

When you use the Service, Edge IT may receive information such as:

  • Your mobile phone number (for example, when you text us or opt in)

  • The content of messages you send to us through the Service

  • Any name, username, or identifier you provide in connection with the Service

  • Comments, feedback, or support-related information you send us

 

Your rights: You may request (i) information about the Personal Information we may have collected about you, and/or (ii) that we delete certain Personal Information, subject to legal and operational requirements.

 

3. How we use Personal Information

 

We use Personal Information to:

  • Provide and operate the Service

  • Process and respond to requests, questions, and support inquiries

  • Send service-related messages (for example: confirmations, updates, scheduling, and important notices)

  • Improve our services and internal processes

  • Conduct internal research and reporting (including aggregated or de-identified reporting)

 

4. Message storage and retention

 

Messages sent through the Service may be stored on servers operated by us and/or our service providers. We retain information as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and for legal, security, and operational purposes.

 

5. How we share or disclose information

 

We do not rent or sell your Personal Information to other companies or individuals for their marketing purposes.

We may share or disclose Personal Information only in limited circumstances, such as:

  • With your consent

  • To enforce our Terms of Service or protect our rights

  • With trusted vendors/service providers who process information on our behalf (under confidentiality and security obligations)

  • With parties under a non-disclosure agreement, where appropriate

  • With affiliates under common control with Edge IT, as permitted by this Policy

  • To comply with subpoenas, court orders, legal process, or other lawful requests

  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected fraud, illegal activity, security incidents, or threats to safety

  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you (for example: total number of texts sent in a week).

 

6. Mobile information and consent protections

 

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with any third parties, except as necessary to provide and operate the Service.

 

7. Security

 

We take reasonable precautions to protect Personal Information, including requiring our service providers to maintain appropriate safeguards. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. SMS messages may travel through third-party networks (such as your mobile carrier and SMS delivery platforms) that are not under our control.

This Policy does not apply to information you send to other individuals. Do not share sensitive personal information via text.

 

8. Opting in

 

You may opt in to the Service in a variety of ways, including:

  • Entering your phone number online

  • Texting a keyword such as START (if offered)

  • Completing a paper form that includes your phone number

  • Signing up at a point-of-sale or in-person location

 

9. Opting out

 

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message from Edge IT.

After you opt out, you will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS messages from us (unless you opt in again).

 

10. Children

 

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and Edge IT does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13.

If you are at least 13 years old, you should only use the Service with a parent or guardian’s permission. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or that you are at least 13 years old and have permission from a parent or guardian.

 

11. Third-party provider limitation (if applicable)

 

If we use a third-party communications provider (for example, Broadvoice) to deliver text messages, you acknowledge that the provider is not responsible for, and will not be liable for, disputes between you and Edge IT related to the Service.
